I’ve been involved in the world of computing for 25 years. I first started working with computers in 1980 when I was an audio engineer, programming control software for recording studio equipment. Since then, I’ve worked as a database programmer, hardware expert, digital pre-press specialist, IT manager, 3-D modeller, a columnist in several computer magazines, a DTI-accredited business consultant, and for the last few years as the Chief Information Officer (IT Director) of a group of companies based in the UK.
Trained in business management at BT and computing at HP, I’ve designed and built data centres and networks between companies in different cities, operated and maintained admin and manufacturing database systems, run e-commerce services, trained helpdesk staff and managed programming teams building new or improved business software. And right now, having taken leave of the corporate world, I’m enjoying a more modest and peaceful life in Devon, helping families and small businesses by passing on my knowledge and experience at a similarly modest cost. You can read what they think of my work by following this link.
I am based just outside Hatherleigh in the centre of Devon and I am happy to travel to any client within an hour's drive - which covers Exeter, Okehampton, Hatherleigh, Crediton, South Molton, Launceston, Barnstaple, Holsworthy, Bude, Torrington and everything in between.
